Dr. Joseph SP Ting (丁新豹博士), HKU graduate (BA, MPhil, PhD HK) Dr. Ting is one of the most distinguished expert of recent Chinese and Hong Kong history. As the former Chief Curator of Hong Kong Museum of History, Dr. Ting is renowned for his rich knowledge of the history of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, as well as his effort of redeveloping Kom Tong Hall into Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum. He advised for HKU100 mobile app "HK Tram Trail - Traces of Hong Kong's Urban Development" (香港軌跡 - 百年城市發展故事) and featured in TV and radio, such as "City Hall 50th Anniversary" (大會堂五十週年), "Centenary of China's 1911 Revolution" (百年辛亥革命) and "Hong Kong Stories" (香港故事). |

Summary:
Hong Kong University Alumni Association (HKUAA) Green and Culture Group organizes a guided tour of Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum (孫中山紀念館), followed by a guided tour on the way to HKUAA Clubhouse and a luncheon talk there by Dr. Joseph Ting, the most renowned expert of the recent Hong Kong and Chinese history.
By starting a Sunday exploration of Dr. Sun’s life history at the Museum in Kom Tong Hall (甘棠第), which became a declared monument in 2010, participants will gain an insight into Dr. Sun’s close relationship with Hong Kong, together with a precious opportunity of a guided tour of Kom Tong Hall by the Museum staff to observe and understand the beauty of the architecture.
Further insights into the life of this honourable man can be gleaned by going to 2-3 spots of Dr. Sun Yat-sen Historical Trail (孫中山史蹟徑) under the guidance of Dr. Joseph SP Ting - the best historian to walk you through the traces of activities and various memorable landmarks of Dr. Sun in Central.
Back to HKUAA Clubhouse, participants will enjoy an interesting and inspiring luncheon talk by Dr. Ting to understand the daily life and anecdote of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Hong Kong with a fine dining lunch.
