Time: 6:45 pm Venue: HKUAA AA Bar – 1/F, Yip Fung Building, 2 D’Aguilar Street, Central Fee: Free for Fine Wine Club members. Others with a charge of $50 Seats: Maximum 30 We are organizing a tasting of three outstanding 2009 Bordeaux red which were selected as the number 1, 4 and 5 best wines among 13 medium price labels including La Lagune (US$85), Laforge (US$80) and Clos du Marquis (US$70) in an Executive Wine Seminar in New York organised by Robert Parker. Surprisingly, the top choices were not the more expensive ones. In fact none of the names mentioned above made it to the top five ! I am so glad to see the results, because it shows there are GOOD VALUE wines and it is our policy at the HKUAA Bar to serve good value wines ! This time we have managed to obtain the following wines for the tasting : #1 - La Fleur de Bouard (Lalande-de-Pomerol) RP 93, EWS 96, (US$45)
#4 - Ch. Haut Bergey (Pessac-Leognan) RP 94, EWS 94, (US$45)
#5 - Ch. Senejac (Haut-Medoc) RP 93, EWS 93, (US$30)
Some of you may recognise the third wine, Senejac, as the second subscription wine we had earlier for members. Well, it shows we made a good choice even approved by the connoisseurs. The good news for members is that I have secured 3 cases of this good value stuff for subscription which will open in the tasting. The price would possibly be even less than the last one ! Come and also bring your friends to this tasting session and see if you can guess which is the # 1 choice made by the connoisseurs and win a price! There is limitation for 30 participants.
