Summary:

HKUAA is delighted to organize a guided tour for the exhibition "Blossoms 繁花", a solo exhibition of the esteemed Chinese writer and artist Jin Yucheng (金宇澄). Featuring a captivating collection of 41 paintings from various series spanning the past decade, this exhibition marks Jin’s debut in Hong Kong following successful showcases in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen under the same title. Viewers are invited to explore Jin’s intricate visual universe and surreal landscape, which together oer a mesmerizing tapestry of imagery beyond his acclaimed literary works. This exhibition is organized by Kwai Fung Salone and co-organized by Yunmiao Culture.

Jin's career as a painter began in 2012 when he created 20 illustrations for his renowned novel Blossoms 繁花. The novel Blossoms vividly portrays Shanghai during the 1960s and 1990s, often likened to the “Ukiyo-e” of that era in Shanghai and China, and has received multiple literary awards. Currently, a television series adaptation of the novel, directed by Wong Kar-wai 王家衛, is airing in Hong Kong.

Welcome all HKU alumni and students to bring your family and friends to join.
