Lecture Synopsis

Western architectural styles have developed over centuries, from the grandeur of Gothic cathedrals to the sleek lines of modern skyscrapers. Architectural design is closely intertwined with technological advancements and socio-cultural influences.

Drawing on his profound knowledge of architectural history and extensive conservation experience, the speaker will guide participants through the evolution of Western architecture - from the temples of ancient Egypt and Greece, to the Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic architectures of the Middle Ages, and onward to the architectural styles of the Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism and Modernism.
