Countries in Pictures – Travel Talk Series - El Salvador

Countries in Pictures – Travel Talk Series

Traveling to world’s ancient countries through talks and rich collections of pictures

EL SALVADOR by Mr. Vincent WONG

Introduction:

Nestled along Central America's Pacific coast, El Salvador is a nation of dramatic contrasts. It is a land of 14 fiery volcanoes soaring above dense coffee plantations and serene black-sand beaches meeting powerful surfs. Its story is edged in ancient Maya ruins at El Tazumal, Joya de Ceren, Cihuatan, San Andres and Casa Blanca and also in the resilient spirit of its people who have rebuilt with hope after suffering from a 12 years civil war which lasted from 1979 to 1992. Vibrant pupusa stalls scent the air in bustling markets, while colourful colonial towns like Suchitoto, Apaneca and Juayua echo with history. It is a country of breathtaking beauty and profound cultural warmth, all condensed into the smallest, most densely packed territory in the region is definitely worth a visit.

Testimonials from participants of previous travel talks and study tours led by Vincent:

“I have learnt a lot on this subject!”

“Very comprehensive indeed. Thanks!”

“Very useful guide for my future trip!”

”Now what I have seen makes much more sense. Thank you!”
