You are cordially invited to join us in the Fifth Annual Golf Day to be held on Monday, 14 April 2008 at the Old Course of the Hong Kong Golf Club.  It will also be the competition (leisure play optional) for the Challenge Cup donated by our Honorary Vice-President, Dr George Choa (best net by Stableford scoring system). 

The winner will be awarded the Challenge Cup (Trophy) and entitled to keep it until the next annual event.  His / her name will be engraved on the Challenge Cup.  There will also be prizes / trophies for best gross and runners up (net); longest drive and nearest to the Pin.  The particulars for this event are as follows: -

Tee-off Time :     7:28 am

Score             :     Stableford for Challenge Cup

Prize               :     Net Champion (Challenge Cup winner), 1^st & 2^nd runners up, Gross Champion, Longest drive, Nearest to the Pin

Play off at       :     Men - White Tee          Ladies - Red Tee

Entry fee:

Option 1  :     HK$1,300 per pax (for non-member of the Hong Kong Golf Club)

                      -     1x18 holes green fee, locker (excluding caddy and golf cart)

                      -     1 buffet lunch

                      -     Lucky draw and prizes

Option 2  :     HK$400 per pax (for member of the Hong Kong Golf Club)

                      -     1 buffet lunch

                      -     Lucky draw and prizes

Stableford Scoring System:

Full handicap allowance will be used for the tournament, with a handicap index cap of 22.  The player with the highest Stableford points over 18 holes will be declared the champion of Challenge Cup.  The point system is calculated as follows:

§         Two or more over net par    =    0 point

§         One over net par                 =    1 point

§         Net par                               =    2 points

§         One under net par                =    3 points

§         Two under net par               =    4 points

§         Three under net par             =    5 points

Count Back

In the event of a tie, the champion shall be decided by matching scorecards as follows:

§         Last 9 Holes                              Full Handicap

§         Last 6 Holes                              Full Handicap

§         Last 3 holes                               Full Handicap

§         Last Hole                                  Full handicap

§         Hole to hole from 18^th hole        Full handicap   

In the unlikely event that this system does not produce a winner, a tie will be declared.  If the same player wins the gross and net champion, he / she has to choose to be either the gross champion or the Challenge Cup winner.

Members who wish to participate in competition can sign up by completing the application form.  Members who do not wish to participate in competition can sign up just for leisure play. 

As there is a limit of the number of players granted by the Hong Kong Golf Club, confirmation of entry will be given on first-come-first-served basis (after payment is made).  More detail will be circulated upon confirmation.
