This is a programme where young alumni and current university students from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) play a role in sharing with pre-university students information and experiences about university life, hall life, academic and career prospects. The programme is group-based. Mentees will be recruited from selected Band One Secondary Schools that show interest in the programme. Mentees will be arranged in groups of around five under the guidance of around three Mentors. Mentors MUST be young alumni or current local undergraduates from HKU.
Objectives
Through organizing various academic-related and social activities, the programme aims to support students in gaining better understanding of university education, the university environment, choice of academic disciplines and future careers.
Pre-university students will be able to seek valuable advice from Mentors, some of whom are professionals in different fields, others current undergraduates or post-graduates. The mix of Mentors can help students in their choice of studies at the university and their career planning.
Mentors and Mentees will be able to meet HKU alumni, HKU students, other pre-university students and if possible HKU Faculty Members and renowned guests.
