Dear HKUAA Members,

My recent appeal to you on the BRICKS CAMPAIGN (please visit www.hku.hk/bricks for details) may have escaped your attention. Don’t worry, this time, I have elaborated more to suggest what we can do for our Alma Mater at this historical juncture of a turn into a new century which coincides with commemorating the 100 years milestone of her development.

Nowadays, we all value Collective Memory, what then is the best opportunity for you to pay tribute to our Alma Mater and concurrently engrave Your Own Collective Memory which will be witnessed for ages to come on the "Bricks" wall of the New Centennial Campus. 

It’s for this special reason that the Association has decided to have a HKUAA Wall which not only will encompass names of donors from HKUAA but hopefully also other Group Donors – big and small – especially Overseas HKUAA and Other Alumni Groups. To achieve this, we need to assemble at least 100 bricks so your participation is absolutely crucial. In order to encourage more donors in groups, HKUAA will offer to donate an additional brick bearing the name of the Group to be displayed together with each Group Donor of 15 to 29 bricks.  As you are aware, for groups with 30 or more bricks, one free brick bearing the name of the group will be offered by HKU.  Please note that the donation of additional brick by HKUAA is limited to 7 bricks only and will be offered to group donors on First-Come-First-Served basis. Moreover, HKUAA will offer to display smaller groups of 2 to 9 bricks together. Other than the above, your participation in HKUAA Wall will not change anything applicable under the BRICKS CAMPAIGN launched by our Alma Mater.

PARTICIPATING IN HKUAA WALL is easy and simple. You only need to inform HKU that you wish to join the HKUAA Wall Scheme when you submit, or even after you have submitted, your donation form to HKU, and then notify our Ms. Cherrie Chan (by telephone 34211218 or email cherrie@hkuaa.org.hk) who will follow up the matter with you. BUT PLEASE HURRY as participating in HKUAA WALL will be offered on First-Come-First-Served basis. If we have more participants after filling one Wall, we shall endeavour to establish an additional HKUAA Wall subject to availability. HKUAA reserves the right to refuse any participation that it deems inappropriate.

This is one-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you cannot afford to miss. I would like to stress again that your generous donations will attract dollar-to-dollar matching for HKU under the “Stanley Ho Alumni Challenge”. Please also note donations are cumulative. Donations totaling HK$20,000, including those from oversea, will be eligible for HKU Foundation Membership.

We need your SUPPORT and let’s all ACT TODAY so as to share to-morrow’s glory of our Alma Mater. Just imagine this will be your best Birthday Gift to our Mother University on the eve of her 100^th Birthday. Do spread the words around and Act Now as once again this is one-in-a-lifetime deed which will be imprinted on the History Of HKU!!!
