Summary:
HKUAA Green and Culture Group + Student Members Group co-organize a guided Eco-Tour to the High Island Geo Trail in Hong Kong Geopark (香港國家地質公園) for HKU alumni and students. Under the guidance of experienced and qualified interpreters, participants will have a chance to appreciate the scenic wonder of the unique hexagonal volcanic columns (六角柱石) at close range and other special landforms such as features of coastal erosion (海岸侵蝕地貌), faulting (斷層), folding (褶曲) and dyke intrusion (岩脈入侵) found along the coastal area of Hong Kong. During the easy walk near the East Dam of High-Island Reservoir, participants can develop a better insight into its history, the various geological features of High Island and the significance of geo-conservation. It will surely be a relaxing, exciting, educational and meaningful eco-tour.
A seafood dinner will be organized after the walk, which will give a precious opportunity for all participants with similar interest but in different professions to meet each other and, of course, to enjoy nice seafood at Sai Kung.
