Summary:

Christie's, the world's leading art business, has been conducting global auctions around the world since the 18th century, with two auctions in Hong Kong annually and prices range from $200 to over $80 million. Christie's, which has offices in 32 countries and salesrooms in major cities around the world, will mark its 25th year in Hong Kong with its Hong Kong Spring Sales 2011 from 27 May to 1 June at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Our exclusive guided tour on May 28 (Sat) will lead you to appreciate valuable Classical and Modern Chinese paintings which will be auctioned this time. Mr. Kim Yu, a specialist in Chinese paintings in Christie's, will illustrate in details a few avant-garde paintings and calligraphy to you. He will shed light on masterpieces of modern Chinese paintings by Zhang Daqian (張大千), as well as classical paintings and calligraphy by Wang Duo (王鐸), Zhang Ruitu (張瑞圖) and Ni Yuanlu (倪元璐). It is a precious opportunity to have Mr. Yu to guide us to appreciate the essential elements of these remarkable works of art.

After the guided tour, you are welcome to stay behind to attend the public viewing until 6:00 p.m. to have a glimpse of a spectacular array of rare and exceptional collecting treasures ranging from Chinese paintings, ceramics and works of art, to iconic works by modern masters and cutting-edge contemporary artists throughout Asia, as well as fine wine, magnificent jewellery and important watches.
