HKUAA Summer Mentorship 2011 Community Programme organized for the 5th year
Hong Kong University Alumni Association (HKUAA) would like to recruit HKU Young Alumni and Undergraduates to be Mentors of "HKUAA Summer Mentorship 2011". This is a community programme organized for the 5th year by HKUAA in which Young Alumni and Undergraduates from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) play a key role in sharing with secondary school students about the information and experiences of university life, hall life, academic and career prospects. As a mentor, you will participate in the activities and inspire the mentees with your insights and experiences. Apart from nurturing a new generation of talented youth, it is also an invaluable opportunity to equip yourselves with the essential skills to be an inspiring leader. Other details as follows: *Target Mentors: Committed volunteers who are HKU Young Alumni and Undergraduates. *Target Mentees: F4-F6 students from EMI secondary schools / local international schools. *Programme Duration: July - August 2011. Two mass gatherings are tentatively scheduled for two consecutive Saturday afternoons beginning from 9 & 16 Jul, 2011. Around 45% of HKUAA members are HKU Young Alumni !!! HKUAA Clubhouse is located in Central near Lan Kwai Fong - the only alumni association in HKU that owns a clubhouse.
HKUAA YOUNG ALUMNI GROUP is one of the most active young alumni group in HKU. The Group is led by brilliant and energetic HKU young alumni. It successfully reconnects HKU alumni, builds up the bonding between HKU alumni and the students, as well as contributes to the society through organizing a variety of social gatherings, sports, green and community programmes such as mentorship programme for secondary schools students, career workshops, banquet, parties, wine tasting, eco-tour and golf trainings. The Group organized more than 60 events and projects since 2006 and maintains an incredible record that all the events were FULL. This recruitment opens to HKU Young Alumni who received their first HKU Bachelor Degree (full-time) in last 10 years. Data held by HKUAA relating to this recruitment will be kept confidential and used only for processing applications. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to have a group discussion for selection and matching purpose.
