Hong Kong University Alumni Association

Do you wish to continue to develop your confidence and leadership? Do you want to become a better speaker in presentations and meetings? HKU Campus Toastmasters Club would be the place for you to achieve those goals.

The Club is formed under HKU Alumni Association by HKU students and HKU alumni with the support of teaching staff of the English Centre. Its mission is to provide a mutually supportive and friendly learning environment. Every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn will foster his/her self-confidence and personal growth.

Regular meetings are held on every first and third Wednesdays from 7-9pm. To celebrate the first Toastmasters Club being founded in HKU, a charter ceremony will be held:

Venue: Convocation Room, MB218, 2/F, Main Building, HKU

Highlights: Demonstration speeches from seasoned toastmasters, including Mr. Donald Yee, an alumnus of HKU.
Mr. Yee was the 1^st Runner-up of the Inter-district International Speech Contest at the Toastmasters International Convention in Toronto, Canada this year.

With a history dated back to 1924, Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization with leading movement devoted to making effective oral communication a worldwide reality. With World Headquarter located in California, USA, there are 9,300 clubs in more than 80 countries; and in Hong Kong, there are currently 36 clubs with over 1,000 members.
