HKUAA Group Mentorship Programme for Secondary School Students - by HKUAA YOUNG ALUMNI GROUP
HKUAA Group Mentorship Programme
for Secondary School Students
The Programme
This is a programme in which HKU young alumni and current university students play a role in familiarizing secondary school students with information and experiences about university life, hall life, academic and career prospects. The programme is group-based. Mentees will be recruited from selected schools that show interest in the programme. Mentees will be arranged in groups of three to four under the guidance of two to three Mentors. Mentors MUST be young alumni or current local undergraduates from the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
Objectives
Through providing a variety of academic-related and social activities, the programme aims to allow students to gain more understanding of university education, the university environment, choice of academic disciplines and future careers.
Secondary school students will get valuable advice from Mentors, some of whom are professionals in different fields and some are current undergraduates. This can help students in their choice of studies at the university and help their career planning.
Mentors and Mentees will be able to meet HKU alumni, HKU students, secondary school students and if possible HKU Faculty Members and renowned guests.
