WINE DINNER on 23 Feb, Tuesday, 2016

I am happy to announce the first Wine Dinner this year organised by the Fine Wine Club on the above date, in a week’s time!

We are going to serve the following fantastic Bordeaux reds :

* 2003 Pontet Canet.          RP 95

* 2003 Sociando Mallet.       RP 94

* 2008 Montrose.             RP 95

* 2009 Lascombes            RP 94

* 2011 Clos des Fees        RP 95

As you can see these are all high score goodies which are at their peak ! The last wine will also be French though not from Bordeaux, but with a score of RP 95 too! And the incredible thing about this wine dinner is that the cost per head, together with our usual sumptuous food menu, is ONLY $680 !! This is 2012 price level ! You cannot get a better deal anywhere else in town I guarantee you ! And Fine Wine Club members get 10% discount too !

Please sign up quickly as we are limiting the number to 36 only.

By the way, I am pleased to report we had a fully subscribed wine tasting before the holidays and everybody enjoyed the occasion of good wines, wine quiz, and exchange of opinions. Two wine prices were given and participants also had the opportunity to buy one of the tasted French wines (RP 92-95) standing for only $175 ! So please look out for our next tasting (free for wine club members).

First Wine Tasting on 29 January, 2016

A red wine tasting will be held by the Wine Fine Club on 29 Jan Friday at the AA Bar.  As usual, the tasting is free for wine club members while non-wine club members and guests will pay $100 for entry.  Each wine club member is limited to bring not more than two guests.

This time, there will be high score reds from the New World with one WA 95 and the rest all over WA 91. James Halliday gave two of them 95 and another one 93 points.  There will also be one 'surprise Old World' red of WA 95 statue !  So we are splashing out on goodies once again !

And all this is free for wine club members !  All the more reason for you to renew your membership or sign up as new members right away !   Your benefits will include subscription at cost to good value wines (coming up soon !) and 10% discount to wine dinners (first one coming on 23 February) !   For your information, the last wine tasting was fully subscribed in just one day !  So please hurry !

One last reminder:  we will start the tasting promptly at 6:45, meaning you can start drinking the wines almost right away.  Don't come too late or there maybe little wine left.

Dear Members,

Happy New Year to you all ! I wish you a productive and peaceful 2016 with good food and good wines !

We held two wine dinners and two wine tastings last year and both were fully subscribed and hugely successful ! Wine Club members were particularly happy with the second free tasting in November as they were served five high scored red, with even two RP 95 Bordeaux! It was fully subscribed in just one day and I must apologise to those who failed to get a ticket in time. We may organise more tastings this year and levy a small charge for the ones serving very good wines, and also limit the number of guests each member can bring so Wine Club members have a better chance to participate.

A free tasting is now scheduled for January 29^th and again the wines all have minimum RP 90 scores. Therefore please renew your Wine Club membership now to enjoy free entry! The annual fee remains at $200 and you will enjoy 10% discount to Wine Dinners, free entry to wine tastings and opportunity for subscription wines at very competitive prices. There will be a Wine Dinner at the end of February tentatively with wines of RP 94-95 scores. Please look out for our notice in the coming month.

We have also added some good value red to the AA Bar wine menu.  The new menu will appear in a couple of weeks time. Do come and try them or order them as you dine in the restaurant.
