Popular Science Talk Series METEORITE by Mr. Vincent WONG

Popular Science Talk Series

METEORITEby Mr. Vincent WONG

"An asteroid strike is considered to be the biggest threat to our planet." – Stephen Hawking

Studying meteorites helps us understand the origin and formation of our own Solar System. How past meteorite strikes have shaped our planet's behavior, the formation of the moon and the Earth's inclined axis, resulting to tidal movement and seasons? How past meteorite strikes have affected the evolution of life on Earth, including the mass extinctions and the rise of mammals? How can we get better prepared for future impacts? Charged by the gram, meteorite is also a very valuable collectible, making "meteorite hunting" quite a lucrative hobby. Join this talk to learn more about the beauty of meteorites.
