Lunch Talk Series – Diamonds in Pictures by Mr. Vincent WONG

DIAMONDS in Pictures

by Mr. Vincent WONG

"Diamonds are a girl's best friend" as they are not only naturally beautiful but also romantic. They symbolize eternal love, hold memories and last but not least, possess high value. However, the traditional market is now being seriously challenged by newcomers as well as the very successful entry of man-made diamonds and diamond look-alikes. As a result, the price and sales of natural diamonds are under pressure. The consumers too are also finding it more difficult to differentiate what is natural and what is not!

This presentation will try to explain in layman terms the differences between natural diamonds, synthetic diamonds and diamonds look-alikes, how they are made and classified, their sources, production and a market update. The talk will end with a short introduction to the World's most famous natural diamonds.
