Summary:
HKUAA is excited to invite you to a guided tour to I. M. Pei: Life is Architecture Exhibition at M+. This is the first full-scale retrospective of Ieoh Ming Pei 貝聿銘 (1917–2019), one of the greatest architects of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Pei’s high-profile projects were realised over seven decades with an exceptionally wide geographic reach. His life and work weave together a tapestry of power dynamics, geopolitical complexities, cultural traditions, and the character of cities around the world, and his transcultural vision laid a foundation for the contemporary world.
We are thrilled to have Mrs. Rosa Ho, our HKU alumna in Architecture, Urban Planning, and Conservation, as our guest docent. Mrs. Ho will provide insightful commentary on Pei’s life, his philosophy, and the architectural masterpieces displayed, enriching your understanding of his work in this exhibition.
