MESSAGE From AA BAR

Dear Wine Club members and other HKUAA members,

I am happy to report the following good news about our wine related activities so far this year:

1.  Wine Dinners
    We have had four successful wine dinners which were all overwhelmingly subscribed. In the last and French Wine Dinner at end of July, there were over a hundred participants who all enjoyed the fine wines contributed by Alsco Enterprises and the delicious food prepared by our Master Chef Lee Cheong. The earlier Italian and Spanish Wine Dinners were also well attended, and again thanks to Alsco's sponsorship. We are now planning the next Wine Dinner and will let you know once the details are finalised.

2.  Wine Subscription
    Good news for Fine Wine Club members: You are now able to subscribe to the very good value RP90 2012 Guigal Cotes du Rhone for only $115 a bottle! We had this wine for subscription earlier this year and it was very popular. It has notes of peppery herbs, smoked earth and almost chocolatey dark fruits. Medium plus bodied, concentrated, with both fine tannin and bright acidity. For this price it is really a no brainer. Each member is limited to two bottles. Please hurry to avoid disappointment. For subscription, please register with our HKUAA Officer, Ms. Natalie Wong, via natalie.wong@hkuaa.hk by stating your full name, HKUAA membership no. and the number of bottle(s) of wine you are going to purchase. After receiving a confirmation email from Ms. Wong, you are advised to get your wine at the AA Bar within one month. Non Wine Club members can purchase it at the AA Bar for $180 a bottle.

3.  Wine Tasting
   A wine tasting is being planned for December. Again Wine Club members have free entry and others pay $100 a head to join. Please watch out for further information.

4.  New Wine Menu
   We have revised the wine menu last month as some wines were sold out and new wines added. We strive to maintain the policy of providing good value wines to members with a good range of prices. I can again boast the AA Bar offers the best value for table wines in Hong Kong! Please take a look at the menu when you visit the bar or the restaurant next time.
