Professional Alumni Group News

HKUAA - Monthly Professional Alumni Get-together Sub-Committee (Professional Alumni Group) organised gatherings for hku professional alumni during the past few years. There were alumni who are doctors, lawyers, bankers, architects, surveyors, engineer, nurses, teachers, accountants and business entrepreneurs have joined and supported our events.

 

Since March 2011, we have started to organise get-togethers for alumni in Beijing. Now we have regular lunch gatherings on a Saturday every month and will try different crusines each time.

Mr Damien Fleury, swiss wine expert, introduced the special features of Swiss Wine and the 5 kinds of wine for our tasting.

 

 

23 alumni joined the bowling fun get-together at Whampoa.

 

We learnt how to make Portugese Egg-tarts and Crème Brulee. Each of us took some egg tarts home and shared with others.

 

This was a joint event with the Community Services Group. 36 of us made rabbit lanterns before Mid-Autumn Festival for giving to elderly people. All participants enjoyed very much and gained some childhood memories.

 

Mr. Thomas Tso, Former Director of the HKSARG Beijing Office and Member of HKU Convocation Standing Committee was invited to share his working experience in Mainland.

 

We tasted 3 kinds of Champagne from France. Mr. Jean Baptiste Deal, the French wine seller gave a presentation on history and tastes of the 3 champagnes.
